Two Sides of a Plant, 2019

Inkjet print on Hahnemühle paper,
engraving on Plexiglas sheets
60 x 50 cm

“Two Sides of a Plant” is a set of diptych photographs which portrays two slightly different angles of the same plant. The plant as depicted in the photographs was placed under the bright sun with its shadow being strongly casted on the ground. If one looks closer, they could see two sentences being engraved on the acrylic sheets of each of the framed photographs. These two sentences are:

You don’t have to see the sun”,
to feel its warmth”.

When shedding light onto the acrylic sheets of the frames, it casts the shadows of those two engraved sentences onto the prints, which infuses those sentences with a sense of volatility.
